Chelsea to miss out on permanent Joao Felix deal?

Felix could stay at Atletico

Chelsea could miss out on signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix on a permanent basis this summer.

The Portuguese signed for the Blues on loan in the January transfer window and he has scored just three goals from 17 outings.

Despite his average displays, the Blues are willing to pursue a permanent deal but it appears a transfer may not be straightforward.

Felix was allowed to leave the La Liga giants in January after falling out-of-favour for a starting spot under manager Diego Simeone.

However, there are suggestions that Simeone is prepared to hold talks with the player and could persuade him to stay with more minutes.

If Felix is not convinced, Atletico could listen to offers for him but Chelsea are unlikely to get him on the cheap this summer.

The Spanish outfit won't accept any players in exchange and could demand as much as €100 million to sanction his departure.

Apart from Chelsea, Manchester United have also been credited with an interest due to their close relationship with Felix's agent.
