Thiago Silva planning to leave Chelsea
Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is planning to leave the club this summer, according to Extra columnist Gilmar Ferreira.
The Brazilian has been a key player for the Blues since his free transfer in 2019 but he is now looking to move on.
Silva signed a new contract until June 2024 earlier this season but he has changed his amid ahead of the summer.
Ferreira claims that Silva is keen on returning to his boyhood club Fluminense, who have made a bright start in Serie A.
The journalist added that Silva will speak personally with Blues director Christopher Vivell about his wish to move on.
The Blues have made several signings over the past year and this has included the purchase of multiple central defenders.
Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile have all joined the club and there could be more acquisitions soon.
Silva continues to remain a consistent starter but may prefer to part ways as the Blues are set for a long period of transition.
