Arsenal attacker close to agreeing contract terms
Arsenal attacker Reiss Nelson is close to putting pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract with the club.
The forward has spent his entire career with the Gunners and he could now extend his stay for four seasons.
Nelson was initially reluctant to extend his deal expiring on June 30 but has been convinced after fresh talks.
He is set to receive a significant pay rise as part of the renewal and could be utilised as a squad player next term.
Arsenal will need plenty of squad depth next season as they look to deal with Champions League football.
Mikel Arteta has tended to rest his key players in the Europa League but he can't do the same in the Champions League.
Hence, there could be more injuries and fitness concerns along the way and he needs a bigger squad at his disposal.
Nelson may not receive regular minutes next term but he seems content to continue with his boyhood club for now.
