Newcastle United to sign Chelsea left-back for £30m?
Newcastle United are reportedly lining up an approach to sign Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella this summer.
The Spaniard joined the Blues from Brighton & Hove Albion for £62 million last summer, but struggled to make a big impact.
Cucurella registered two assists in his first month at the club, but failed to make another goal contribution for the season.
It is now reported that the Magpies are lining up a cut-price move for Cucurella, who could be available for a transfer.
The Blues saw the emergence of Lewis Hall last season, and he could play as the deputy to Ben Chilwell at left-back next term.
Hence, Cucurella could head for the exit door, and the Magpies are aiming to land his services for a knockdown fee of £30m.
Cucurella was linked with a reunion with Barcelona during his time at Brighton, and the Catalans could enter the race too.
Meanwhile, Newcastle want Cucurella to provide competition to Dan Burn with Matt Targett expected to be sold this summer.
