Chelsea confirm defender's move to Saudi Arabia
Chelsea have confirmed the departure of defender Kalidou Koulibaly to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal on a permanent transfer.
The Senegal international joined the Blues from Napoli for £34m last summer, but he struggled to impress for them.
Koulibaly failed to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, and there are no surprises that the club have opted to offload him.
Al-Hilal agreed a package of £20m earlier this week, and the move has now been made official following a successful medical.
Chelsea said in a statement: "Kalidou Koulibaly has left Chelsea after completing a permanent transfer to Saudi Professional League side Al-Hilal."
Aside from Koulibaly, the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy are also expected to make the move to the Middle East soon.
Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have also been offered opportunities in Saudi, but they prefer to stay in Europe.
Lukaku is adamant that he wants to return to Inter Milan on loan.
