Arsenal agree deal to sign Dutch defender
Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, according to De Telegraaf.
The Gunners recently opened talks with the Dutch outfit for the central defender and they have now secured an agreement.
The club have agreed to pay €42m up front for Timber. A further €6m in add-ons has been finalised with the Eredivisie outfit.
Timber is now expected to travel to the English capital to undergo his medical before signing a long-term deal with Arsenal.
He looks set to become the club's second signing of the summer transfer window after the arrival of Kai Havertz from Chelsea.
The Gunners are also in advanced talks to land Declan Rice from West Ham United. A deal could be sorted in the next 24 hours.
There is currently a roadblock over the payment structure, but Arsenal are confident that they will secure a deal for the midfielder.
Rice is set to become the most expensive signing in the Premier League.
