Arsenal ready to battle Man Utd to sign 31-goal striker

Arsenal are ready to go head-to-head with Manchester United in the race to sign Porto striker Mehdi Taremi this summer.
The north London giants currently have Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun as specialist centre-forwards.
Kai Havertz can also play in the role. Despite this, O Jogo claim that the club are interested in bringing Taremi to the Emirates.
Taremi was in stupendous form for Porto last term. He scored a stunning 31 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions.
With a year left on his contract, the Primeira Liga outfit are ready to sell him and it remains to be seen whether a bid is made.
Arsenal have asked for information on the £17m striker, but they are not alone with United and Tottenham Hotspur also keen.
The Gunners are currently weighing up the sale of Balogun. They are prepared to sanction his exit for around £40-50m.
They could be interested in signing Taremi as a target man. The Gunners currently lack a strong aerial presence in the box.
