De Gea confirms Man Utd exit

Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea has confirmed his official departure from Manchester United after 12 seasons.

The 32-year-old has been a key player for the Red Devils over the past 12 years, but he has now decided to move on.

His previous contract expired at the end of June, and United could not convince him to accept a significant pay-cut.

De Gea is now likely to pursue a new challenge away from the Premier League. He is currently on the radar of Saudi clubs.

The Spaniard has yet to negotiate with any of them, and there is a possibility that he could return to La Liga next term.

Meanwhile, United have already found De Gea's successor. They are in advanced talks to land Onana from Inter Milan.

There is growing optimism that they could land his signature by next week. He could be signed for around €50m plus add-ons.

United could also pursue a new back-up goalkeeper if Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton leave the club in the coming weeks.
