Chelsea defender heaps praise on top midfield target
Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has heaped praise on Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Caicedo was on the radar of the Blues in January, and the club have revived their interest in signing him this summer.
So far, they have failed with two bids of £60m and £70m for him, but there is optimism that a deal could be agreed soon.
When asked about Caicedo, Cucurella spoke fondly about his former teammate and believes he would be a top signing.
He said: "I think he wants to come here at Chelsea. I have a good relationship with him, he is a good midfielder — and if he comes I think we have a top midfielder for a long time."
Caicedo has already agreed personal terms with the Blues, but Brighton are adamant about selling him for less than £100m.
The South Coast outfit have referenced Arsenal's recent purchase of Declan Rice from West Ham United for £100m plus add-ons.
The Blues remain hopeful of signing the 21-year-old for less.
