Chelsea make offer to sign Spain international
Chelsea have made an opening bid to sign Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, according to The Athletic.
The Blues currently have Kepa Arrizabalaga as the number one goalkeeper, but he has been inconsistent between the sticks for them.
The Spaniard has been error-free in pre-season, but the hierarchy are still determined to find a proper competitor for next term.
Hence, they are looking into a deal for Sanchez, who is deemed surplus to requirements at Brighton after Bart Verbruggen's arrival.
Sanchez was a regular goalkeeper for Brighton until earlier this year when he was replaced by Jason Steele between the sticks.
He is now free to leave the club for the right price. It remains to be seen whether the Blues can prise him away from Brighton.
With Sanchez being only 25 years of age, Brighton are said to be eyeing at least £25 million to consider his exit this summer.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were linked with him earlier in the transfer window before signing other targets.
