Sanchez on his way to Chelsea

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, according to The Athletic.

The west London giants currently have Kepa Arrizabalaga as their first-choice keeper, but manager Mauricio Pochettino is not fully convinced over him.

The Blues have now made the decision to sign a competitor in Sanchez, who was Brighton's first-choice goalkeeper for two-and-a-half years.

Sanchez lost his place to Jason Steele during the back end of last season. He became the third-choice after Bart Verbruggen's arrival this summer.

He was always expected to head for the exit door. Chelsea have made the surprise decision to sign him for an initial £20m plus £5m in add-ons.

The Spain international has already agreed personal terms with the Blues, and a transfer could be finalised in the space of the next 48 hours.

The Blues are also in contact with Brighton to land Moises Caicedo, but there has been no progress due to the difference in valuations.

Brighton are quite clear that they won't sell him for less than £100m while the Blues are reluctant to pay more than £80m for the midfielder.
