Mauricio Pochettino praises Enzo Fernandez after Liverpool draw
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino heaped praise on Enzo Fernandez following the club's 2-2 Premier League draw against Liverpool.
The Blues started off their campaign against the Reds at Stamford Bridge. They trailed early after a Luis Diaz goal, but debutant Axel Disasi put them level before the break.
The second half was a slow burner with neither team finding the back of the net and speaking after the game, Pochettino was pleased with Fernandez's showing in midfield.
He said: "Enzo was good. Today the team showed, we only conceded one shot on target against Liverpool. I think the team was solid. We need good players, we need to improve the squad. That is not new."
The Blues are currently in the process of bolstering their midfield and negotiations are advanced to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia from Brighton and Southampton.
Both players were recently on the radar of Liverpool, but the Blues have managed to win the transfer battle with better proposals on the table for the talented young duo.
