Chelsea close to signing another goalkeeper
Chelsea are close to signing New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues signed Robert Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this month, and he was promoted as the number one keeper after Kepa Arrizabalaga's exit.
The west London giants are now eyeing cover for the Spain international and they are in advanced negotiations with New England to sign Petrovic. He will cost around €20m.
Manchester United have also been linked with the highly-rated Serbian in recent months, but they are currently happy to keep Dean Henderson as their back-up shot-stopper.
In case Henderson heads for the exit door, they could rely on Tom Heaton for the deputy role. As such, Chelsea have a free run at signing Petrovic from the Major League Soccer side.
Chelsea started their league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at home and they will now face West Ham United at the London Stadium in tomorrow's London derby.
Mauricio Pochettino will be eyeing a victory against the Hammers.
