Turkish goalkeeper set for Man Utd?

Manchester United's pursuit of Fenerbahce number 1 Altay Bayindir took a twist today, as the Red Devils upped their original offer from £17 million to £25 million with a further £2.5 million in add-ons. The Turkish international is wanted to fill in as a backup to Andre Onana at Old Trafford.

Bayindir began his career with Bursaspor, making a move to Ankaragucu in 2013, and later making his professional debut in 2016 for the same club. Fenerbahce snapped up the 6 foot 6 goalkeeper in 2019 and the shot stopper has gone on to play on a regular basis. Bayindir only recently signed a new deal with Fener, so the player's value has rightly increased.

United are likely to sell Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace, as the Eagles have had an offer of £14.5 million accepted. Bayindir is seen as a perfect replacement for Henderson.

United released David De Gea in the summer after failing to agree to a new deal, and Andre Onana has been brought in from Inter Milan and has so far impressed since taking De Gea's spot in between the sticks. However, Man Utd manager Erik Ten Hag is eager to bring in another goalie before the transfer window closes.
