Chelsea set to sign another defensive midfielder
Chelsea are set to land the signature of Corinthians teenager Gabriel Moscardo for €25m, according to Globo Esporte.
The Blues have already landed two holding midfielders in Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia in the summer transfer window.
However, they are continuing with their plans to bolster the squad and are set to land 17-year-old Moscardo from Corinthians.
Talks are very advanced with the Brazilian giants for the teenager, and an agreement could be reached before the deadline.
Moscardo is a defensive midfielder who is strong in tackles and duels. He has also impressed with his ball control at such a young age.
Arsenal and Barcelona were looking at him earlier in the week, but the Blues have now won the race to land his signature.
Since Moscardo won't turn 18 until the 28th of September, he won't be permitted to join the Blues or any other European club.
Hence, he won't be linking up with the London giants until January. It is very likely that they will loan him out to Strasbourg.
