Arsenal focusing on contract deals for defensive duo
Arsenal are focusing on new contracts for Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko following the extension for Martin Odegaard.
The Gunners recently confirmed a new long-term contract for their club captain. He has signed a new deal until June 2028 and becomes their highest earner at around £300,000-a-week.
The club are now expected to turn their attention to new deals for White and Zinchenko, who are currently undisputed starters in the full-back positions under manager Mikel Arteta.
White and Zinchenko are both contracted until the summer of 2026, but the hierarchy want to reward them with long-term contracts on the back of their performances last campaign.
Arsenal have made another strong start to the season. They are unbeaten in their opening seven games in all competitions and recently won 4-0 against PSV in the Champions League.
The Gunners will welcome Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's Premier League derby. A victory over their north London rivals could see them climb to second or third on the table.
