Ten Hag on Man Utd's win vs Brentford

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said that the club's dramatic win over Brentford on Saturday must be the turning point for their season.

The Red Devils have had a dreadful beginning to the campaign and they have already suffered six defeats in all competitions - four of them in the top-flight.

They were on course for another at Old Trafford today before a dramatic twist. Scott McTominay gave them an unlikely win with two stoppage time goals (2-1).

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said that the club had a plan for the day and they managed to find a solution right at the death against the Bees.

The Dutch tactician also emphasised that the victory over Thomas Frank's side must be the turning point for the remainder of the current campaign.

He said: "This must be the turning point. This reflects our season so far from the start of a game. It has to be that you believe and you see the fans believe: they are sticking together."

"They are behind us and they kept us going. But then we have a plan and that is the big compliment for the team. They kept the plan. They kept switching."

United are currently 10th in the table with 12 points, but the margin to the top four has been reduced to just four points.

This could, however, increase before the end of Sunday with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City due to play their games.
