Chelsea identify two goalkeepers to replace Robert Sanchez

Chelsea have identified Giorgi Mamardashvili and Unai Simon as potential candidates to replace Robert Sanchez in goal.

The Blues recruited Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion over the summer and he has been an undisputed starter for them.

However, there are doubts whether he will continue as the number one in the long-term, considering flaws with his distribution.

It is now reported that the west London giants have started to look at potential solutions ahead of the January transfer window.

It is unclear whether they will spend big on a shot-stopper this winter, but they are monitoring Mamardashvili and Simon.

Porto's Diogo Costa has been another player on their transfer radar, but the Blues have no plans of meeting the transfer demands.

The Portuguese giants want the player's €75 million release clause to be triggered in full. The Blues are unlikely to do so.

The club are looking for a more affordable solution. The above-mentioned La Liga duo could be prised away for around €45m.
