Chelsea increasing pressure to sign Victor Osimhen
Chelsea are reportedly holding more frequent talks with Napoli to secure the services of Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker is currently contracted to the Serie A champions until June 2025, and he has no plans of negotiating a new deal.
Should his stance continue until the summer, Napoli are expected to sanction his sale. It appears Chelsea are trying to get ahead of the queue.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, they have already made multiple approaches to Napoli and are trying to increase the pressure.
The Naples outfit are unlikely to entertain a mid-season exit, but Osimhen could leave in the summer for a fee of around £100 million.
With the huge financial backing at Chelsea, they should have the upper hand over rivals such as Arsenal and Tottenham in the race.
The final decision will, however, depend on Osimhen. He may want the assurance of Champions League football at his next club.
In that case, Chelsea may struggle to convince him to join them. They are currently 12 points adrift of the top four after just 10 games.
