Arsenal to miss out on signing Brazilian midfielder?
Arsenal are unlikely to land the signature of Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa during the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Brazilian has been in sensational form in the centre of the park for the Villans and he registered an assist in the 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
This has taken his tally to six goals and three assists from 20 appearances and Romano claims that the West Midlands outfit have no plans to sell him in January.
Unai Emery has transformed the club over the space of one year. They were a relegation-threatened side at one point but are currently in the league's top four.
The Villans have high ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League and are unlikely to entertain parting ways with Luiz to a direct rival in the New Year.
Instead, they could evaluate his situation at the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether the Gunners will stay patient until the summer or pursue an alternative.
