Manchester United are close to reaching an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for the transfer of midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

The Red Devils have already signed Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro this summer and a new defensive midfielder is the next priority.

They have recently agreed personal terms with Ugarte and Foot Mercato claim that the club are now close to finalising a deal for him.

PSG want a hefty fee of around €70m for a permanent transfer, but United are quietly confident of signing him on loan with an option to buy.

The Red Devils have already received the green light from the Uruguayan, who has also told PSG that he won't consider any other club.

It appears only a matter of time before the Red Devils seal an agreement. They will be hoping to have Ugarte in the squad after the US tour.

The midfielder is currently on holiday after his exploits at the Copa America where Uruguay finished third after beating Canada.
