Arsenal confirm knee injury for 25-year-old defender
Arsenal have confirmed that Takehiro Tomiyasu will be absent for the pre-season tour of the United States due to a knee injury.
The 25-year-old has been with the Gunners for the past three seasons where he has missed several games with injury issues.
Tomiyasu has now suffered a fresh setback and he won't be involved in the friendlies against Bournemouth, Manchester United and Liverpool.
It has also been reported that the defender may not feature in the home friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon next month.
It could take at least two to three weeks for him to recover. Alongside Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney is also on the sidelines for Arsenal.
The Scot picked up a hamstring injury on international duty for Scotland at Euro 2024 and he is currently recovering at the training centre.
He was expected to be sold earlier this year, but Arsenal may have to wait until January to do so on the back of his recent setback.
