Drogba: I may stay at Chelsea

Drogba: I may stay at Chelsea

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has spinned a new wave of mist on his future by now declaring that he might as well stay on at Chelsea for one more season at least.

The Ivory Coast international has been heavily touted to move to AC Milan in the summer after he himself confessed confessed his admiration for the Italian giants. Drogba has actually been tipped to leave Chelsea sooner or later since his mentor at Stamford Bridge, Jose Mourinho, was sacked by the club earlier in the season.

Since then the former Olympique de Marseille striker was unhappy at the Bridge and told France Football magazine that he wanted to follow in the foot-steps on Mourinho and depart from the club at the end of the 2007-2008 season.

But in an interview to Sky Sports, Drogba does spary a whim of optimism about him staying on at Chelsea for one more season.

He explains:

"After the last match of the Premiership at Stamford Bridge of course I thought it could have been my last match here.

"But it is just like that each year after the last home match.

"Anyway I am still here next term, as my contract will be over in 2009.

"Last October when I said in France Football I wanted to leave Chelsea, that liberated me.

"There were too many frustrations, I had to get it all out but then I had to take care to be good and I had my best period of the season.

"Now it is up to me to make my choice, and I will take my time For a few weeks, everyone talked about me going everywhere, but no one has named Chelsea.

My family and I are fine in London. Moreover, I have just bought a nice house here. I never split on Chelsea. I just confessed a discontent after the departure of Mourinho.

"I am just thinking, and asking myself about the best decision to make."

Along with Milan, Inter Milan and Real Madrid are also in keen interest to land the player from Chelsea this summer.
