Enzo Maresca drops Chelsea duo from squad for Servette game

Sterling and Chilwell dropped again

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has dropped Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell from the squad to face Servette on Thursday night.

The Blues host Servette in the first leg of the Conference League play-off and ahead of the game, they have named their provisional squad.

Maresca has picked Reece James despite him carrying a minor hamstring injury. He could be assessed in the lead-up to the encounter.

However, there is no place for Sterling or Chilwell. Both players were also missing from the squad to face Manchester City last weekend.

The Blues have made the decision to part ways with the duo and they have already received the green light from the manager to do so.

Maresca does not believe Sterling and Chilwell can add value to the team and they are free to head for the exit door in the coming days.

There is a high possibility that the duo will depart by August 30. They could be loaned out, considering the huge weekly wages.
