Enzo Maresca confirms injury blow for Chelsea winger
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Pedro Neto was absent for the Leicester City game after picking up a knock on international duty with Portugal.
The 24-year-old has been in a good run of form for club and country. He recently scored in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal before netting for Portugal against Poland in the Nations League.
However, the former Wolves star was missing from the matchday squad to face the Foxes today and when asked for the reason, Maresca said: "Pedro had a problem with the international team and we didn't want to take any risks."
In the absence of Neto, Joao Felix made his first league start of the campaign on the left wing. He had an average outing. Neto could replace him next game if he is deemed fit.
Jadon Sancho returned from his short-term injury as a substitute against the Foxes. He is another option for the manager if Neto is unavailable.
