Mathys Tel has decided to leave Bayern Munich
Chelsea target Mathys Tel has decided to leave Bayern Munich before the transfer deadline next week, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Frenchman has played second fiddle to Harry Kane for the striker's role and he has now decided to pursue a new challenge away from Munich.
Chelsea expressed an interest in signing him earlier in the transfer window. They are still keen, but are expected to face plenty of competition.
There are seven clubs interested in landing the 19-year-old on loan while Tel has also received multiple permanent bids to leave the Allianz Arena.
London rivals Arsenal could be among his admirers. The Gunners are desperately in the hunt for a new marksman before the deadline.
Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak are not available in the transfer market and Arsenal could prefer a short-term solution until the summer.
Tel would be a perfect acquisition on loan. The Gunners could explore a permanent deal if he were to succeed during the temporary stint.
