Liverpool handed boost in signing Alexander Isak?
Liverpool have been handed a potential boost in signing Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak due to Arsenal's interest in Viktor Gyokeres.
Isak has been in sensational form for the Magpies this campaign. He has registered 23 goals in all competitions for the Tyneside outfit.
He has been on the Gunners' radar from his time at Real Sociedad, but The Athletic claim that the club are focused on landing Gyokeres instead.
New sporting director Andrea Berta is working behind the scenes to sign the Swede. He could be available for around £60 million this summer.
The news could be pleasing for Liverpool, who are reportedly focused on bringing Isak to Anfield during the summer transfer window.
The Reds are prepared to offload Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota. The former is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League.
The Merseyside giants could spend big on a marquee striker and could be prepared to test the Magpies' resolve for Isak this summer.
Isak is likely to be valued more than £100m, but the price tag could be as high as £130m if the Magpies qualify for the Champions League.
