Mikel Arteta confirms hamstring injury for Arsenal star
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that William Saliba was substituted against Newcastle United with a hamstring injury.
The Gunners qualified for next season's Champions League following a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Magpies at the Emirates Stadium.
David Raya made several sublime saves in the opening half. Declan Rice eventually scored with a superb curling effort in the 55th minute.
Speaking after the 1-0 win, Arteta acknowledged that Saliba was taken off at the break as he had some concern with his hamstring.
He said: "Well, the first one because of an injury to Wilo, I think he felt something in his hamstring in the first half, unfortunately so we had to make the substitution."
Arsenal have pretty much cemented the second spot on the table with 71 points and can end the season on a high with another victory.
The Gunners face the Saints on the road in the final game of the campaign and they should fancy a comfortable win at the South Coast.
