Arsenal pushing hard to sign Atletico Madrid striker?
Arsenal are reportedly pushing hard to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez during the upcoming transfer window.
The Gunners are determined to bolster their strikeforce ahead of next season and they are expected to spend big on a marquee solution.
Marca claim that Alvarez has emerged as a top target for the Gunners under the recommendation of sporting director Andrea Berta.
Berta was the sporting director at Atletico for eight seasons before his move to Arsenal. He is well aware of Alvarez's credentials.
The former Manchester City striker joined the Spanish club last summer. He has had an exceptional year with 29 goals to his name.
Arsenal are keen on bringing him back to the Premier League and it remains to be seen whether a deal can be finalised.
Atletico paid an initial fee of around £64 million for the Argentine and they could hold out for more than £100m to sanction his exit.
Liverpool are also monitoring the situation of the 25-year-old.
