22yo star undergoing medical with Chelsea

Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap is undergoing his medical with Chelsea ahead of his £30 million transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues are planning for a busy transfer window. They are expected to sign two centre-forwards before the Club World Cup in the United States.

Delap is one of those. The Blues have agreed to pay his £30m release clause and he has undergone the first part of his medical on Sunday.

The remaining will be completed on Monday before signing a long-term deal.

Delap is currently scheduled to represent England at the Under-21 Euros, but Chelsea want him to withdraw and play in the Club World Cup.

The 22-year-old has yet to make a final decision, but he is most likely to participate with the Blues in the global tournament this month.

After Delap, Chelsea have their sights on landing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike. Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko are backup options.
