Ruben Amorim refusing to give up on Viktor Gyokeres?
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has refused to give up on signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer, according to Correio da Manha.
The Red Devils are planning to make multiple signings and a marquee striker is likely to be prioritised amid the struggles of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Hojlund has been linked with a potential return to Serie A with interest from the likes of Napoli, Juventus and Inter Milan. Amidst this, Amorim is said to be eyeing a reunion with Gyokeres.
Gyokeres has his sights on playing Champions League football next season. United can't offer him that, having finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final too.
Despite this, Amorim has refused to give up on Gyokeres and believes the club can purchase him after recouping funds from player sales in the coming weeks.
Arsenal were heavily linked with the Swede last month, but the club are currently focused on landing RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko instead.
