Barcelona complete signing of 24yo Arsenal target

Barcelona have completed the signing of Arsenal target Joan Garcia from Espanyol, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners were eager to sign the 24-year-old last summer, but they were reluctant to trigger his release clause before the deadline.

Arsenal were confident of returning for him earlier this year, but they have now missed out on his services to the Blaugrana.

Garcia was happy to accept a deputy role to David Raya last term, but he changed his stance after his stand-out La Liga campaign.

The Blaugrana have now paid his release clause worth £21 million and he is expected to be their first-choice keeper next season.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been Barcelona's number one when fit, but he is poised to lose his starting spot to the Spanish ace.

There is a good possibility that Ter Stegen could pursue a new challenge away from the Catalan giants in the coming weeks.

Wojciech Szczesny could play second fiddle to Garcia next term.
