Bournemouth make first bid to sign Chelsea star
Bournemouth have made an opening bid to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Cherries are keen on strengthening their goalkeeping department for next season following the departure of Kepa Arrizabalaga after his loan stint from the Blues.
Arrizabalaga had the chance to return to the South Coast outfit on a permanent basis, but has opted to join London rivals Arsenal as a backup for David Raya.
Bournemouth have now made a formal offer to purchase Petrovic, who was one of the standout goalkeepers in Ligue 1 last season with Strasbourg on loan.
The Serbian has developed into a top-class goalkeeper and it remains to be seen whether they can find a suitable agreement with the Blues for his services.
With Sunderland also in the mix for him, Chelsea are said to be holding out for at least £25 million to sanction his sale. Petrovic is open to a new challenge at either club.
