Arsenal confirm sixth signing of transfer window
Arsenal have confirmed Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres as their sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have had a brilliant summer and they have already spent almost £200 million on purchasing players.
Kepa Arrizabalaga was the first acquisition followed by the arrival of midfield duo Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.
Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera were signed soon after before the much-awaited transfer of Gyokeres from Sporting.
The 27-year-old arrives at the club after a sensational campaign with Sporting where he scored 54 goals and provided 13 assists.
His statistics were undoubtedly the best among strikers in world football, and the big question is whether he can replicate the feat.
Gyokeres will face a sterner challenge in the Premier League, but he has already proven his credentials against some big clubs in the Champions League.
The Swede could make his friendly debut for the Gunners during next week's north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong.
