Man Utd handed fitness boost for Arsenal game
Manchester United have been handed a fitness boost with goalkeeper Andre Onana expected to return for the Premier League opener against Arsenal.
The Cameroon international recently picked up a hamstring injury and reports claimed that he could be on the sidelines for around eight weeks.
However, the injury is not as bad as initially feared and he could return in the lead-up to the Premier League curtain-raiser at Old Trafford.
Onana is anticipated to feature in one of the pre-season friendlies next month ahead of facing the Gunners in the first game of the new campaign.
The 29-year-old has been guilty of making errors in goal during his time at United, but he remains the first-choice under manager Ruben Amorim.
There has been much speculation that he could be replaced this summer but as things stand, Onana has no plans of heading for the exit door.
United are still eyeing a proper backup option behind Onana.
