Man Utd to battle Liverpool for 25yo PL star

Manchester United are ready to compete with Liverpool to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi this summer, according to Football Transfers.

The Red Devils have had a superb transfer window and they have already spent more than 200 million pounds to sign Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Diego Leon and Benjamin Sesko.

United are expected to continue their spending spree in the coming weeks and have their sights on landing a centre-back after the departures of Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans this summer.

Guehi, who has been a long-term target for Liverpool, has now emerged as an option for the Red Devils. They are set to provide fierce competition to the Reds in the pursuit of the Englishman.

The 25-year-old is widely expected to leave the Eagles, having entered the last year of his contract. He has no plans to pen an extension and Palace are unlikely to want to lose him on a free transfer.
