Abdul Fatawu on Everton radar
Leicester City are open to selling 21-year-old winger Abdul Fatawu amidst interest in the Ghana international from Premier League outfit Everton. The Toffees are ready to pay £15 million for the youngster, and are confident that an agreement can be reached in the next week. The 5 foot 10 winger played 12 times since arriving at Leicester City for 10 million euros, but could only play 11 times in the Premier League last season.
Fatawu emerged from his home country in 2022, before Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon were able to agree a fee for the then 18-year-old. After one season in Lisbon, Leicester came calling, and Fatawu scored six goals in 40 Championship games in 2023-24, helping the Foxes to promotion. Last season the talented winger did not get much opportunity and is now seeking a move elsewhere.
It is understood that David Moyes, the Everton manager, is seeking reinforcements in the attacking department and believes Fatawu would be a useful understudy to the incoming Man City winger Jack Grealish, for whom a loan deal is expected to be completed this week.
