Nottingham Forest and West Ham have both open discussions with Monaco defensive midfielder Soungoutou Magassa and are confident that a fee can be agreed before the close of the transfer window for the impressive 21-year-old. Making his debut in 2022 for current club Monaco, Magassa has been a bright spark in an otherwise mixed few years for the Ligue 1 side, and the club are reportedly reluctant to sell one of their best assets.
West Ham have had a worrying start to their Premier League season, losing 5-1 to Chelsea on Friday, whilst Nottingham Forest are believed to be about to change their manager Nuno. Forest have money to spend on new players and club Director of Football Edu is seeking reinforcements having already brought Douglas Luiz to the City Ground on loan from Juventus.
Magassa has played for France's under-21 side eight times and is widely expected to soon make the step up to the national team squad.
Monaco are looking for around 30 million euros for the player, and as we enter the final week of the transfer window both Premier League sides will be doing all they can to convince the youngster to join their respective clubs.
