Newcastle bid for Jorgen Strand Larsen rejected
As Liverpool and Newcastle continue to negotiate over a fee for Swedish striker Alexander Isak, the Toon Army are scouring the globe looking for a replacement for the striker and yesterday had a £50 million bid rejected for Jorgen Strand Larsen by Wolves. The Norway international striker is seen as a possible replacement for Isak after an impressive debut season last campaign.
Strand Larsen bagged 14 goals in 35 games for Wolves in 2024-25 whilst on loan from Celta Vigo, and the club were finally able to agree a fee for the 25-year-old in the summer, believed to be around 31.5 million euros. Now, Newcastle have entered the race for the striker and are confident an agreement can be reached before the transfer day deadline of September 1st.
Newcastle do have other targets should a deal fail to materialise for the Norwegian, and it is understood that Nicolas Jackson is still their number 1 option. Chelsea have informed Jackson that he is free to leave Stamford Bridge, but only at 70 million euros, a price that Newcastle do not want to pay for the former Villarreal player.
