Chelsea eyeing free transfer for Sergej Milikovic-Savic
Chelsea are reportedly open to signing Al-Hilal midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
The Serbian was one of the best box-to-box midfielders during his time with Lazio. He was linked with a Premier League move on many occasions, but ended up joining Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.
Milinkovic-Savic has been a huge hit for the Middle East outfit with 31 goals and 27 assists from 104 appearances in all competitions, but he could pursue a return to European football when the season concludes.
His current deal expires on June 30 next year and according to Football Transfers, Chelsea are exploring the possibility of a free transfer.
The Blues have focused on signing players below the age of 25, but they could be prepared to change their transfer policy for the 30-year-old.
Chelsea are yearning for a quality competitor to Cole Palmer in the number 10 department. Milinkovic-Savic would be a top-class signing for them.
