Arteta confirms fresh Arsenal injury blow after Burnley win

Gyokeres picks up injury vs Burnley

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed a fresh injury blow following the 2-0 Premier League win over Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Gunners went seven points clear at the top of the table after an impressive display in Lancashire. Viktor Gyokeres was the stand-out performer in the opening half.

The Sweden international opened the scoring from a corner and also delivered a terrific long ball for Leandro Trossard, who delivered the assist for Declan Rice's goal.

However, his game ended on a sour note. The 27-year-old was substituted at the half-time interval, and speaking after the win, Arteta confirmed a setback for the striker.

Arteta told BBC Sport: "In the first half was one of the best he's played with us. He felt something muscular so we have to wait to learn the extent of that."

Arsenal take on Sparta Prague in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. Gyokeres faces a race against time to be fit for the European encounter.
