Arteta on Trossard and Calafiori

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update on Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori after the FA Cup fifth round win over Mansfield Town on the road.

Trossard and Calafiori were picked in the starting line-up to face the Stags, but they were substituted in the first and second halves respectively with apparent injury concerns.

Speaking after the game, Arteta said that the duo were carrying little niggles and were not comfortable to continue.

He said: "Both of them, they had little niggles, they weren't comfortable to continue. And we knew that this could be a possibility, especially in the conditions that we're playing today. So, we have to take them off."

The Gunners face Bayer Leverkusen on the road in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday night.

Arteta will hope that Trossard and Calafiori will be fit by then. William Saliba, Martin Odegaard and Ben White will need to be assessed too.

Saliba looks the most likely candidate to return from the above-mentioned trio. He has missed the last two matches with a minor ankle issue.
