Arsenal eyeing surprise move for 25-goal Brazilian star

Arsenal are weighing up a surprise move for Brentford striker Igor Thiago as they seek to reinforce their striking department for next season.

The Gunners currently have Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus as their strikers, but the latter is widely expected to head for the exit door.

Jesus' contract expires at the end of next season and the Gunners are prepared to sanction his sale for around £20 million in the coming weeks.

Thiago has been earmarked as the ideal replacement for his Brazilian compatriot on the back of a tremendous campaign with the Bees.

The 24-year-old netted a stunning 25 goals for the west London giants last season, and he has been widely touted to pursue a bigger challenge.

Brentford missed out on European qualification on the final matchday of the Premier League, and this could pave the way for his departure.

Manchester United have also been linked with the Brazil international, but he won't come on the cheap and may cost around £80 million.
