Villa slap £14m tag on Barry
Aston Villa have slapped a massive £14 million pricetag on Gareth Barry. Liverpool and Rafa Benitez are desperate to land the England international midfielder, but Martin O'Neill has insisted he wants the player to stay at the club.
Liverpool originally bid £10 million for Barry, but only increased their offer by £1 million more.
Now Aston Villa are believed to be prepared to listen to any offers over £14 million, and they may actually sell Barry as O'Neill seems to have admitted defeat in his efforts to keep the centre midfielder at the club.
Liverpool have been chasing Barry since February.
