Arsenal weighing up move for new striker in January

Arsenal are likely to enter the transfer market for a new striker when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Gunners explored the possibility of signing a world-class marksman earlier last month, and they looked at different names.
Out of them, Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez was the prime target, but the Argentine only wanted to join Barcelona this summer.
An enquiry was also made for Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez, but the Nerazzurri made it clear that he was not for sale at any price.
The club could not find a solution in the end, but they are widely expected to pursue a new target during the next transfer window.
Meanwhile, Viktor Gyokeres has managed just 16 minutes of Premier League action this term and has been an unused substitute thrice.
It is quite clear that he is behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order for the striker's role and Arsenal are open to selling him if a top-class striker arrives.
