Three Ligue 1 clubs reject chance to sign former Chelsea winger

Three Ligue 1 clubs have decided against signing former Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling on a free transfer, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.

The England international has been a free agent since his release from Feyenoord last year and has since been embroiled in legal issues of different kinds.

Despite this, he is keen on returning to competitive football. He has been offered to three Ligue 1 sides, including Le Havre, but none have expressed interest in offering a contract to the former Manchester City man.

Sterling has no option but to play the waiting game at the moment. The Englishman has offers from lower leagues, but he is focused on reviving his career at the highest level and will be offered to other clubs.

The 31-year-old has endured a tough couple of years, but he has shown no desire to call time on his career and believes he can redeem himself. He seems prepared to accept a short-term deal.
