Man Utd want Akinfeev

Man Utd are interested in signing Russian international goalkeer Igor Akinfeev from CSKA Moscow. Alex Ferguson is on the market for a long-term replacement for Edwin van der Sar.

At CSKA the goalkeeper has won the UEFA Cup and three Russian championships, and a host of clubs were linked with the talented shot stopper.

Arsenal were also linked with a move for the keeper, but are believed to rate highly their new Polish goalkeer Lukas Fabianski.
