Gerrard pleased with draw
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was delighted that his side secured a point against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, insisting that they fought well in the second half and probably deserved the contentious penalty decision.
"We raised the tempo at half-time, we were disappointed with our first-half performance," he told Sky Sports News.
"We needed to play quicker and I thought were better second-half and kept pushing and we got that breakthrough with the penalty.
"You look at the stats we have had 22 efforts at goal and there was times that we thought the breakthrough might not come but we did get our reward."
