Poyet admits Spurs were right
Former Tottenham boss Gus Poyet has admitted that the club were right to sack him and his former coach Juande Ramos. The pair started the season off in the most miserable of ways, and Harry Redknapp has changed the form of Spurs.
Poyet said: âBeing honest and looking at the results, it was the right decision to sack Juande and me.
âWhen you change the manager after 10 games or so, youâre not looking to change the style.
âWhat youâre looking for are different results, a reaction, a change. Simple â and it happened. So full credit to Harry.
âItâs not nice when you get the sack. But Iâm realistic at the same time â when things arenât going well you canât hide. Those are the rules in football and you must accept them.
âWe had an absolutely fantastic pre-season. But we couldnât get any points in our first couple of games so the situation changed completely â especially for the new players.
"All of a sudden âboomâ you canât get a result. I think the place got nervous. You have habits, methods and those sometimes donât work.
âEven if you have the best training in the world you will ask questions if you are losing. Youâll say, âIs this the best way? Shall we do this, shall we do that?â
âYou will ask too many questions. Thatâs why the club decided to bring in something fresh and different. And it worked.â
