Micah close to Man City deal

Micah Richards is edging closer to signing a new deal at Man City. Richards has been a revelation this season for both club and country, and the 19-year-old will be signing a new deal after interest in the player has emerged from several top Premiership sides. Ahead of today's game with Newcastle, Sam Allardyce has praised Richards for his current performances.

Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of Richards' prodigious talents, and the defender has caught the eye at both right and centre back this year.

Richards' agent, Alex Levack, has said, "Talks were on hold while Micah's father and I were away but they resumed this week.

"Talks are ongoing and going well. Micah's football takes precedence but we hope to get something signed soon."
